Living Artefacts - Material Experiments with Kombucha

These samples are the results of a series of experiments that investigate how the growth of bacterial cellulose can be guided or controlled to form specific shapes. The latest experiments involve growing and harvesting an endless roll of cellulose, grow-connecting multiple layers of cellulose, and using the fermentation process to inflate the grown artefacts.
