Match Day

Football evokes such passion. And, as a consequence, such depression.

Fans making their way home, after a match where their team lost, will feel thoroughly depressed. They will also feel the scarf around their neck begin to tighten. It won’t strangle them long enough to kill them…just long enough to take them to near-death so that they appreciate life.

In a world which is so darn safe, with automatic-braking cars, transplants of this and injections of that to keep us alive for as long as possible, and with health & safety ‘professionals’ all over the place it’s no wonder that we need machines to kick in / strangle / electrocute us now and then to remind us of the value of life.
